Location: Australia

Total Length: 3.5 inches

This is a terrestrial species of gecko found in
many of the deserts of Australia.

 

Latin Name: Nephrurus levis levis

Location: Australia

Total Length: 4 - 5.5 inches

This terrestrial speciesis is nocturnal. They require humid
underground burrows. Thier burrows are usually found amongst
the roots of desert shrubs and grasses.

 

Latin Name: Oedura castelnaui

Location: NE Australia (around Cape York, Queensland)

Total Length: 6.5 inches

Arborial species from an area of extremes.
The Cape York area is known for it extreme rain fall as
well as extreme droughts.

 

Latin Name: Rhacodactylus chahoua

Location: New Caledonia

Total Length: 9.5 inches

This is a arborial species found on the Main Land as well as
the Isle of Pines. The geckos found in these two location are two
different locale types. The locale we work with is the Mainland, which
is a bit smaller, bolder and darker than the Isle of Pines. These geckos are
insectivorous, but will accept fruit based diets on accasion.

 

Latin Name: Rhacodactylus ciliatus

Location: S. New Caledonia

Total Length: 8.5 inches

This species is an arborial gecko found on the Isle of Pines.
It was once thought to be extinct, but was found in the 90's on
an expedition on the Isle of Pines. Since that time there have
been great numbers of them produced in captivity. They are insectivorous
and also eat fruit based diets.

 

Latin Name: Rhacodactylus leachianus leachianus

Location: New Caledonia

Total Length: 11 - 15.5 inches

This is the largest living species of gecko in the world. They inhabit
the Mainland of New Caledonia as well as many of the small offshore
islands. They primarily eat fruit, but are also carnivorous.

 

Latin Name: Strophurus intermedius

Location: E. Australia

Total Length: 4 inches

This is a small semi arborial gecko that inhabits the eastern desert
of Australia. This species is usually found by day and night
in small desert shrubs, where it preys on small arachnids, roaches,
termites and other small insects.

 

Latin Name: Strophururs williamsi

Location: E Australia

Total Length: 4.5 inches

This species is very simular to the Strophurus intermedius.

 

Latin Name: Teratolepis facciata (viper gecko)

Location: Pakistan

Total Length: 4 inches

They are a small terrestrial species found in the arid deserts
of Pakistan. This species is relatively easy to keep if kept warm and
dry, only offering water once a week.

 

Latin Name: Theloderma corticale (Vietnamese mossy frog)

Location: N. Vietnam at elevations of 3000 feet

Total Length: 3 inches by 3 inches

This a really cool species from the highlands of Northern Vietnam. They
truly look like moss or lichen that has been scatttered along rocks or
peebles. This mostly aquatic species is found at high elevations
in mountain streams.
